Cyclo-logistics at the service of temperature-controlled urban delivery

Today, city delivery constraints are intensifying with the deployment of ZFE. We will now have to reckon with this system, which will continue to expand. While today most temperature-controlled food deliveries are made by thermal vehicle, companies will have to rethink their habits and opt for emission-free delivery methods.

To respond to this, cycle logistics solutions are being developed, mainly for parcel deliveries. Regarding transport under controlled temperature, the implementation of an active system comes up against weight constraints, which are not very suitable for cyclo-logistics due to an excessively large empty mass.

Noting the additional load breaks generated by the use of cyclo-logistics, Charles Levillain imagined the Bicylift trailer in 2016. Thanks to its completely new integrated lifting system, this trailer makes it possible to handle and transport loads independently and quickly. . This facilitates the integration of the bicycle as a link in the supply chain, adapting to the standards of the latter.

Aware of the existence of the challenge of temperature-controlled transport, FlexiModal sought to offer a passive cold solution to have optimized payloads while meeting the requirements of the cold chain. To fully integrate into the supply chain, FlexiModal was looking for solutions in pallet format that were economically viable and robust.

At the same time, Olivo was looking to adapt their isothermal box to cyclo-logistics following requests from their customers.

This is how the two companies came together to combine their strengths and meet the needs of historical and emerging players.

The combination of the two solutions offers several advantages for this growing market.

For players already equipped with a Bicylift trailer, the addition of an Olivo isothermal box allows them to equip themselves at a lower cost with a solution to ensure temperature-controlled deliveries.

They thus gain in versatility and broaden their field of action. Another advantage is that the containerization of foodstuffs in these self-contained isothermal boxes limits load breaks and therefore ensures perfect continuity of the cold chain. To sum up, the Olivo x FlexiModal partnership is:
